| Music on a Sunday | | Music on a Sunday(not intentionally an indie title...)I was driving home from making a quick errand this Sunday afternoon when I heard a song that I really liked on the radio. I quickly roll the volume dial to the right. I could tell that Ireally liked the song because at that moment, I had become something quite similar to a dashboard bobblehead doll, into the beat, completely carefree, and totally unconcerned about my ridiculousness. Due to my foolish behavior, I undoubtedly appeared slightly insane to any fellow drivers on their weekend outing, restlessly waiting for the traffic light to change; however, the oversized, annular sunglasses I was wearing, along with my showy faux fur hooded jacket, probably helped altar their perception a bit, making me appear like an overexposed, D-lister celebrity recording a 99 cent album while driving in a rental that was,... | |
| | Have you ever lost a school book/textbook? | | Oh no I have lost my book in school it was my textbook. They are really expensive to because it was my geometry textbook and they are new books. | | Worse Class You Ever Had | | When I was in college I had to take some gen ed course and I choose astronomy as one. As all the other classes were filled up, I was stuck. The teacher I had was young and inexperienced but instead of teaching he was checking out the female students in his classroom. There was no discussions, no explanations whatsoever about astronomy. He basically was reading off the textbook. Thus, when we had questions he couldn't answer them. Knowing this, everyone just kind of went to class just to be there. That was one of the worse class I've ever had. For over 3 months, I had to watch him stumble and show his perversity. I mean I could have seen it in a positive way but I learned nothing and felt I wasted my time as well. Have you ever had a worse class or even classroom experience? Please share. | |

| | How to control your anger? | | Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a nice week because mine was ruined. I had an augument with a classmate and I made a discussion about it last time. After the argument, it seems like we sort it out and made peace and agreed to talk to each other normally if it happens that we cross each other at school. However, I still feel angry inside of me and it's affecting my schoolwork. All the things that has been said has hurt me and i just can't forget it. I just want to ignore what hapenned but everytime I open up my textbook to read, he pops up in my head trashing things at me. Although we agreed to make peace, i think i will keep my distance and just talk of what is necessary. Did someone experience something like this before? How do you move on? Or maybe that i just need some time to forget about it? It has been since yesterday morning since that event and i can't stop thinking about it.... | |
| | | Expectations was not too high | | I had recently ordered a textbook for school off of amazon. It had described the book as very good. Being that it said that is was in very good shape I was expecting to receive a book in very good shape. Not the case. I receive the book and sure the outside of the book seemed in pretty good shape. However, the book as a whole was not. I flipped through the book and some of the pages have already been separated from the spine. I don't believe that it is missing any pages. But I think that with selling books they should be truthful as to it's real condition or have a comment of it's condition. Anybody have a similar experience with buying anything used online? | |
| | Do you sell back your college textbooks? | | One of the things that a lot of college and university students do is sell back their textbooks at the end of the semester. I have a few friends who do. My wife also occasionally sells back the ones that she does not believe she is ever going to use again. I, myself. on the other hand, have never sold back a textbook. Many of my textbooks I plan on using again. Either they are history textbooks (I hope to write history articles someday), or they deal with literature. As a literature major, I have occasionally used the same exact text for three different classes. Plus, given the number of economics articles I have written over the past couple of years, my textbooks in that subject have paid for themselves. So what about you? Do you sell back your textbooks? Or have you found uses for them? | |

| | renting a textbook for your school can be a great way of saving | | Text book renting is a great way of saving money for college students. We can no longer rely on buying those super - expensive textbooks like years before. We especially love this idea to living frugally especially for college students who has to handle those dorm renting fees, and tuition burden. Textbooks can be a killer. Recently, there were lots of websites available for students to rent textbook online just like the model of netflix. Now, there is a website can be used as a guidance to compare the book price on different websites. Try to look at rentscouter.com. You might find cheaper book renting sites in price comparison. | |
| | Selling my textbooks | | Since I will graduate from university soon, I sold my self-used textbooks and some other learning materials I will no longer use today.I put them in a box and brought them to the square in front of our canteen, unpacked them on the ground. Then I sat on the chair there and waited for lower grade students buying them. I sold them in a low price because I don't want to spend too much time on it. Finally I sold about 4/5 of the total and get about RMB100. The process of selling is a good pratice for me.One of my teacher in university who taught me Data Structure and Data Base told me and my classmate, you should buy second-hand books and sell them after the using semester. This can save resources and more economic for yourself. What do you think? How did you deal with your used textbooks? Sold them? Kept them? Or gave/donate them? | |
| | Book Pricing or Alternatives | | As many know the price of college textsbook are pretty high. You can buy a science book for two hundred dollars and use it only for three months to get five dollors when you sell it back. My question is, has anyone found a better alternative to save money? What do you thing could be a better possibility than spending so much on a book, that at times is never used? I want to see how so many view this issue. Thank you | |
